Managers and professionals need to know how to negotiate

They might be agreeing terms of a contract, negotiating with buyers, sales people, or peers in other organisations. They may be negotiating with staff, managers, staff associations or representatives. In all cases, it will be essential to reach a good settlement which represents a satisfactory outcome for all parties, whilst retaining the all-important on-going working relationship.

How to negotiate

To negotiate effectively, managers and professionals need a clear approach and a real understanding of precisely what negotiation is. They also need an insight into their particular negotiating style.
